Cypress Ventures

How we invest

Cypress Ventures partners with ambitious entrepreneurs. We invest early, and we stay involved while a founder brings a transformative product to market.

The number of companies is limited for a practical reason. The people responsible should be able to remember the last conversation and still be useful after the investment is made.

The first conversation

A note should say what the company does, why the founder is the person building it, and what the capital is for. If a conversation is warranted, we will propose one. If it is not, we will say so.

A long memorandum is not required before that conversation. A deck that arrives without one is not a basis for an investment either. The conversation is where a decision starts.

After an investment

We remain available. When we make an introduction, it is to a customer, a later investor, or an operator we know. We do not add a standing reporting meeting in order to appear involved.

The company is run by its founders. Our part is the capital, a view on the decisions in front of the company, and an introduction when we have one worth making.

The office

In 2019, Cypress Ventures was spun out of an existing private family office to continue funding small private companies across varied sectors from prepared food and CPG products, to agentic AI applications. When the right entrepreneur, product niche, and market opportunity comes along, we are always ready to invest.

Names and figures

Those areas are the public description of the work to date. Individual companies are named on this site only when the people involved want them named. We do not publish a fund size, a typical check, or a count of investments. If a range would be useful before you write, ask in the note. The answer will come back in the reply, not on this page.

Securities

Nothing on this site is an offer to sell securities, or a solicitation of an offer to buy them. An investment is made in documents, with counsel, after a conversation.
